If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR certified bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 2 million homes for a year, save about $460 million in annual energy costs, and prevent 6 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions per year, equivalent to the emissions from more than 550,000 cars.
